Network Training Emulators

Network Training Emulator (NTE)

NTE has been assembled by netLabs!UG as an aid to the training of Network Engineering. It is based on a development called Common Open Routing Emulator (CORE) by Boeing and the United States Navy. It is a Open VirtualBox Appliance (OVA).

• Download the code from here
• Extract the file and it will create a directory NTE_v3.0-x64
• Install VirtualBox on the host computer and select File --> Import Appliance, select NTE_v3.0-x64.ova
• In VirtualBox adjust the available RAM for the new VM appropriate to your system in Settings -> System -> Motherboard.
• Run the VM and start with the README file on the Desktop.

NTE Software Defined Networking (NTE-SDN)

NTE-SDN has been assembled by netLabs!UG as an aid to the training of Network Engineering. It is based on a network emulator called Mininet and a number of SDN Controllers, POX, Project Floodlight and OpenDayLight (ODL). It is a Open VirtualBox Appliance (OVA).

• Download the code from here
• Extract the file and it will create a directory NTE-SDN_v2.0-i386
• Install VirtualBox on the host computer and select File --> Import Appliance, select NTE-SDN_v2.0-i386.ova
• In VirtualBox adjust the available RAM for the new VM appropriate to your system in Settings -> System -> Motherboard.
• Run the VM and start with the README file on the Desktop.
