Abstract Cybersecurity is more than a simple evolution of the traditional Information Security arena, it is a true quantum leap in understanding how modern cyber attacks are built and handled by smart and powerful attackers. The wider the understanding of said - required - leap, the larger the number of countries, states and governmental entities that are willing to adopt a progressive and robust cyber defence programme. Israel was one of very early countries, worldwide, who defined, built and implemented a full and comprehensive National Cyber Defence programme to protect the civilian domain, i.e., industrial, governmental, public and private entities as well as man-in-the-street, against cyber-attacks.
About the presenter Buky Carmeli is the Former Director General and Founder of the Israeli National Cyber Security Authority (NCSA), under Prime Minister of state of Israel, and the Former Head of MOD Cyber Defense division. Carmeli, an Electronics Engineer, served for more than 17 years in famous 8200 military unit in various managerial and development positions, in the field of Intelligence and Cyber technologies; Mr. Carmeli is one of the early founders in the Israeli cyber security field, since the early 90's, and today advises to various companies and governmental entities; Mr. Carmeli is also the official Cyber Security advisor of the Israeli Central Elections Committee to secure elections in Israel against cyber-attacks.
