Xiegu G90 CW Keys

The Xiegu G90 HF Transceiver manual had the following diagram describing how to wire a CW paddle key for the 3.5mm KEY port.

Well I prefer the CW straight key and when I plugged it in to the port I received a continuous tone. The Xiegu G90 manual has no instructions for connecting a straight key. The straight key 3.5mm plug is two pole with tip and ground. To resolve the problem I replaced the 3.5mm plug with a three pole plug and connected to the tip and the ground or the tip and sleeve, ignoring the ring as illustrated here:

After this the CW straight key worked fine with the G90.
